Beginner Instant Pot Recipes
When first getting started with the Instant Pot as a beginner, things can be a bit intimidating. Be sure to visit my post on How to Use Your New Instant Pot, Tutorials and Recipes to see all of the things that you can do with your Instant Pot. That also has some recipes, but my purpose here is to simply provide some easy Instant Pot recipes for beginners. I tried to choose recipes that use plenty of liquid to avoid burn notices and are not overly complicated or require special accessories.
One of the easiest things you can make in your Instant Pot is soup. The amount of liquid used makes getting a burn notice next to impossible, and honestly it is pretty hard to mess up a soup. Here are some good easy soup recipes that you can try and you can also check out our Instant Pot soup category:

Beans are another great item that are easy to make in the Instant Pot.

After soups and chilis, there are other easy items that you can try, such as pulled chicken or pork, various pasta dishes, oatmeal, and items that use less traditional liquids than water or broth, such as canned tomatoes or canned sauces. Here is a selection of examples. One note with pasta recipes if the blogger doesn’t mention it: Don’t stir your pasta all the way in. Try to keep it off of the bottom of the pot, yet covered with liquid. I like to press mine down from the top into the liquid. This will avoid burning. The same goes for dishes with rice. For recipes that use things like canned tomatoes for liquid, don’t drain them! Remember that your pot needs at least a minimum of a cup or so of liquid for a 6 QT and two cups for an 8 Qt. Yes, people find ways to make things with less, despite being less than what Instant Pot officially recommends, but save those experiments for when you are no longer a beginner.
