Mayor Baldermann and the Village of New Lenox are again bringing world-renowned musical artists to the New Lenox Village Commons this summer with the 15th annual Summer Concert Series. Originally known as the Triple Play Concert Series, the event's name and format look different this year as the Village offers concerts for sale by individual ticket rather than the formerly required set of three. We hope this new structure allows even more people the flexibility to come out and join us for a few nights of top-tier live entertainment. Smokey Robinson Smokey Robinson is the first concert announced as part of the Summer Concert Series with a show taking place Saturday, June 1. Ringo Starr And His All Starr Band will join us in the Village Commons Saturday, September 14. Ringo Starr served as the drummer for the most influential and best-selling band of all time, the Beatles, and will be accompanied by his All Starr Band, which features Warren Ham of Kansas and Toto, Edgar Winter of the Edgar Winter Group, Steve Lukather of Toto, Hamish Stuart of Average White Band, Colin Hay of Men At Work, and Gregg Bissonette of the David Lee Roth Band.
Tickets will be available for sale to New Lenox residents only beginning Saturday, May 11, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the New Lenox Village Hall. Any tickets remaining will be available for sale to the general public during the Village Hall’s regular business hours. Tickets are $90.00 each and are valid only for the Ringo Starr show on September 14.
Smokey Robinson ticket holders with a receipt will be permitted special early access from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on May 11 to purchase their Ringo Starr tickets. Smokey ticketholders may purchase one Ringo Starr ticket for each Smokey ticket they purchased. Additionally, anyone who has purchased or does purchase Smokey Robinson tickets will receive a $10.00 discount per ticket for the Ringo Starr concert (for example, if you purchased 4 tickets to Smokey Robinson, you will receive a $10.00 discount on each of up to 4 Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band tickets). A receipt is required for all of these opportunities. Tickets must be purchased in person at the New Lenox Village Hall.The Village Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Ticket sales will take place on the upper level of the Village Hall. Cash, check, and credit/debit payments are accepted (please note that payments made using a card will incur a 2.25% service fee). Additional free parking is available at the Route 30 Metra station, located at 201 N. Prairie in New Lenox. Access to the venue is provided via a free shuttle service that runs continuously throughout the event. Shuttles drop off in the Village Commons at the corner of Veterans Parkway and Gear, near Gate 1. Accessibility Accessible seating is reserved on the concrete surface in front of the Village Commons concession stand. Parking
Limited parking is available at the Village Hall south lot (1 Veterans Parkway), the New Lenox Public Library (120 Veterans Parkway), Old Plank Trail Community Bank (280 Veterans Parkway), and Trinity Services (301 Veterans Parkway).
Accessible parking is available at the New Lenox Police Department's administrative lot, located to the southeast of the building. Patrons then have the option of being transported to the concert entry gate via golf cart. Limited accessible parking spaces are also available in the Village Hall south lot and the New Lenox Public Library lot.
The following items are prohibited: video/audio recording devices, professional cameras and cameras with detachable lenses, pets (excluding service animals), outside food or beverages, tables, wagons, and umbrellas. Small, empty, soft-sided/collapsible coolers are permitted. All bags are subject to search. Blankets and lawn chairs are permitted.
This is a rain or shine event. No re-admittance is permitted. Children ages eight and under are admitted free and must be accompanied by an adult. No smoking is permitted on the Village Commons lawn.
Food and beverages, including alcohol, will be available for sale in the venue. Patrons must be at least 21 years of age to purchase alcohol. Drink tickets, which are available for sale on site for $5.00, must be used for all alcohol purchases (one ticket = one beverage). Drink ticket sales are cash only, and an ATM is available on site. Drink tickets are only valid at the concert at which they are purchased.
-- The Triple Play Concert Series was started by Mayor Baldermann in the summer of 2009. An annual concert series held in the New Lenox Commons, its purpose is to provide entertainment for the residents of New Lenox and raise revenue to help fund the special events that New Lenox hosts throughout the year. These events have included movie nights, free concerts, Kids Fest, Christmas in the Commons, and much more.
