"I think someone sent that to me. Was it in an email? Was it Slack? Was it a text? Maybe it was pasted in the Zoom chat during the meeting.” Sound familiar? With the multiple applications we're all working across on the daily, it can be challenging to remember where everything is stored. Dropbox Dash aims to be the “Google for your personal stuff”.Read more about Dropbox's AI-powered search service on The Verge!

🤔 Here’s a curious thing: Generative AI can do more than create text, images, and videos. It’s also adept at generating code, diagnostics, plans, recommendations, predictions, and classifications… But how does this differ from traditional predictive AI, planning AI, and AI recommenders? 🤔 Or consider this: If an AI model can learn to perform all these amazing tasks, do we—or the AI—still need to write code to produce an app? Can we now ask an AI to ‘become/be’ the app (even generating UIs) just through learning? Is coding on its way to becoming obsolete (rather than merely ‘being automated’)?🤔 Or take AlphaGo Zero: It didn’t learn from human plays but easily outperforms those AIs that did. Does this suggest human data and expertise might actually be limiting AI’s potential? Do we worry too much about AI running out of data to learn from, or being limited by training data?🤔 And why did the OECD recently update its AI definition, removing ‘human-defined objectives’ and replacing it with ‘implicit and explicit objectives’? What’s happening to human expertise, human knowledge, and even human objectives!?I just explored these provocative topics at the GenAI for Government Summit. It’s time to move beyond the usual narrative about GenAI’s capabilities, opportunities, risks, and hallucinations… Let’s delve into the essence of GenAI and debunk some myths. :-}𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 atCSIRO's Data61https://lnkd.in/gyzjE4-i𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤:https://lnkd.in/gsQz5swySlides https://lnkd.in/gUwFZp_u

You've probably heard of Dash, Dropbox’s #AI-first product. Built In caught up with Head of Product for Dropbox Dash, Marley Spector about how her team built and launched Dash."We built Dash so that knowledge workers could have one place to search and organize what they need to get work done across all of their work tools. This means no more searching through a dozen slide decks to find that one image you’re looking for, pinging someone to ask for the meaning of the acronym that was referred to in the meeting or keeping a bunch of tabs open because you don’t think you’ll be able to get back to them later. AI is the fabric of the product."Learn more about the people behind our products and the making of Dash. #LifeInsideDropbox
